- 1. After being away from the spotlight for many years, Doris returned
- to television with a "delightful" weekly series, titled "Best Friends." Each
- week, she would feature a different "Guest Star" who would come to stay
- at her house in Carmel, or she would happen to run into them, while out
- running errands. Her connection with each, and the story surrounding
- their appearance, would vary. In addition to her "guests" she would
- also talk about her pet foundation and feature segments with her friends
- and associates in the animal field. Plus there were many times, when a
- musical selection of hers would highlight a particular animal story or
- short film, which was "really nice!" Sadly, her very first guest on the
- program was Rock Hudson, in what would be is last appearance.
- It's clear to see, that he wasn't feeling well, and so the first episode of
- the series is really not typical of the "overall" essence of the show.
- The rest of the episodes are much more lighthearted.

- 2. During this particular episode of "Best Friends" Les Brown and the
- other members of the band, stop by Doris' place for a visit!

- 3. A lost dog, brings guest star Robby Benson to Doris' doorstep!

- 4. On today's show, Doris relates the story of how her beloved pet, "Bigest"
- came to be a part of her life. While walking along the beach, enjoying the
- waves of the ocean, Doris sings the song, "I give you my heart."

- 5. While running an errand, Doris runs into her old friend, Joan Fontaine
- who has just acquired a brand new puppy. During this episode, the two ladies
- visit, while the new puppy gets some lessons! As the show draws to a close
- Doris sings a song, devoted to horses.

- 6. On this particular episode, Doris' dear friend, Denver Pile pays her a special
- visit! It's wonderful seeing the two of them together again! After a tour
- through the San Diego Zoo, with it's exotic wildlife, Doris sings the song,

- 7. After her stagecoach is pulled over by a couple masked robbers, Doris' guest
- Howard Keel comes to the rescue!

- 8. During this very interesting episode, Doris visits the Monterey Bay Aquarium,
- where we are treated to some really amazing ocean wildlife! Afterwards, she visits
- with her friend, Gretchen Wyler.

- 9. Making a special appearance on the show, Mickey Gilley stops by Doris' home
- in Carmel, for a wonderful visit. As the show draws to a close Doris sings the
- classic tune, "Wildfire" as a group of horses, play and run wild.

- 1. During this particular episode, Doris features a wonderful segment on the subject
- of "search and rescue" dogs. Which provides us with a really cute moment, when the
- dog uncovers Doris, who is hidden inside this huge box!

- 2. After being out of the spotlight for the past twenty years, Hollywood Insider,
- presented a very brief update on Doris.

- 3. Returning to Hollywood, Doris accepts the "Cecil B. DeMille" award at
- the Golden Globes, which is simply splendid! She looks wonderful! And she
- is very grateful for the honor.

- 4. During a very special program, titled "Doris Day ~ A Sentimental Journey" we
- are treated to an exceptional retrospective of the life and career of the talented
- singer, dancer and actress! From the very beginning, clear to the present.
- Doris looks absolutely wonderful! This is a wonderful program.
